What Makes Marine Plants Unique?

Marine plants produce approximately 70% of the world's oxygen and absorb twice as much human-produced CO2 as land plants. They contain unique proteins that allow them to live underwater. When used by humans, these proteins become innovative products and materials that are impossible to produce with other technologies.

Our Rationale

We know the Marine Plant Based movement is a shiny, new field for most businesses. But ultimately, broader use of marine plants just makes common sense. Self-propagating, fast-growing, and environmentally friendly sea plants offer a vast number of applications that are just now being explored by modern science.

About Seaweeds

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry.

It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using ‘Content here, content here’, making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for ‘lorem ipsum’ will uncover many web sites still in their infancy.

Our

History

The last 20 years have made a massive difference in public opinion and visibility of marine plant technology. Marine plants can be found supporting drug discovery, novel food and beverage development, environmental health, and petroleum alternatives. But, these plants were an integral part of indigenous peoples’ daily lives long before they were popularized through applications in tech and wellness.
Today, the same sea plants are being repopularized by the Marine Plant-Based movement. Ireland’s dulse plants, red algae that produce the gelling-agent agar, and the nori seaweed that wraps sushi rolls are just a few examples of edible “macroalgae”. These are the large marine plants we associate with words like “seaweed” and are easy to recognize! Modern research no longer limits us to using these plants. Microalgae have demonstrated remarkable abilities to break down environmental plastics in lab tests, for example. Further research will bring new accolades and opportunities to the Marine plant-based sphere.
Thanks to new technology, traditional food ways have evolved into a super-industry, garnering consumer and government participation. Read more about the companies and organizations making waves in the marine plant-based movement in our news feed..

Marine Plant Based

Connecting people and planet is our top priority. We use emerging technology to help humans live in harmony with their surroundings, not fight against them. Seaweed and marine plants are naturally viable raw materials with a long history of human application, but right now, their use suffers from a lack of creative vision.
Many people imagine seaweed as fishy black tendrils and slimy stuff left behind on a beach. Others view it as an exotic ingredient only used for high-class spa treatments or cuisine from far-off lands.
We understand these concerns and so have built up a network of partners who are working to change the public vision of marine plants for a brighter future.
We believe that the first hurdle is education. Like with many biases, positive personal experiences with marine plant-based products go a long way in changing minds! We provide these experiences through live events, newsletters, and our infotainment Podcast, XYZ, where we feature celebrity and influencer guests. MPB offers press release materials, marketing support, and access to our private resource network partners.

Marine plant-based chem, manufacturing and tech partners serve as the nuts and bolts of our industry but often need help connecting to the public. Big personalities like influencers and product brands can back up their excitement with science thanks to our efforts. With a background in both tech development and successful product launches, Marine Plant Based facilitates a symbiotic relationship between industrial and consumer partners.

Our organization introduces new products at every price point in a variety of markets, from food to beauty to industrial solutions, that bring our raw materials to the public in an easy-to-understand, enjoyable way. MPB Certification ensures that a product made from seaweed or algal raw materials is produced to exacting quality and food and drug safety standards. Algal (Marine Plant) based products are vegan, promote environmental health by repurposing blue carbon, and support physical health thanks to a unique nutritional spectrum.

Delicious sweets made from seaweed have already become a huge trend on Tiktok, making strides to normalize marine-plant-based foods as a part of our everyday routines. Ultimately, this is what we hope for. If our organization is able to convert consumers to successfully incorporate marine-plant-based products into their daily lives, we believe it will change the world for the better. You are invited to join us in this journey. Help us bring all the benefits of Marine Plant Based products to the public, for the sake of our health, the environment, and everyone’s future.
